Riding Lessons

At the ranch, our riding programs are designed to build confidence, skill, and a strong connection between rider and horse. We offer both Western and English riding styles, giving riders the opportunity to learn proper technique while developing balance, communication, and horsemanship in a supportive environment.

Western Riding

Western riding is known for its comfortable saddle, relaxed style, and strong foundation in balance and control. Riders learn how to guide their horse using seat and rein cues while developing steady posture and confidence in the saddle. Western lessons focus on fundamentals, arena patterns, and practical riding skills that prepare riders for trail riding and advanced disciplines.

Western is an excellent starting point for beginners and first-time riders.

English Riding

English riding emphasizes posture, precision, and athletic development. Riders learn correct positioning, rein contact, and movement at various gaits while refining their balance and coordination. English lessons are ideal for riders who want to advance their skills, build technical ability, and explore disciplines such as jumping and equitation.

Many riders transition into English after building a strong Western foundation.

Not Sure What Lesson to Choose?

If your rider is brand new to horses, Western riding is the best place to begin. The saddle design and teaching approach help riders feel secure and comfortable while they develop core skills and confidence.

As riders grow stronger and more experienced, they can advance into English riding, where they refine technique and expand their abilities.

We offer:

  • 30-minute lessons for ages 7+

  • 60-minute lessons for ages 8 and up

  • Adult Western lessons for riders who
    prefer an adult-only class environment

Our instructors are happy to guide you toward the best starting point based on age, experience, and goals. Whether you are enrolling a first-time rider or returning to the saddle yourself, we are here to help you take the next step with confidence.
